Extended Weekend Tours Long Breaks |
| Agumbe | 3 Nights / 4 Days from Rs. 10,500/- |
Agumbe, located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, is among the wettest locations in the world, with upto 10000 mm of rainfall, often within the few short months of the southwest Monsoon. The rainforest around Agumbe is connected montane evergreen forests of Kudremukh and among south India’s last remaining patches of lowland evergreen forest in the Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary.
We stay in the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station, initiated by the world famous herpetologist, Romulus Whitaker, ideal to gain first hand knowledge of Herpetology and life at a research station. Located within the world’s only King Cobra sanctuary, the experience provides a great opportunity to encounter wild king cobras, among several other snakes, endemic birds and other rainforest flora & fauna. While mammals might be difficult to find within these dense rainforest, there are chances of encountering real rarities such as the brown palm civet and brown mongoose, among more regularly sighted wild boar and deer.
